A finely formed rose medallion foliated bowl from the Guangxu period with no marks. This comes from the thinly potted group. There are 20 well rounded sides. Nice ring.

A 19th (nineteenth)century China trade album of 10 good sized export paintings. Each leaf shows a stage in the process of making silk... from boiling the cocoons, spinning out the individual strands, winding into a "spool", dying the silk, drying, and finally to the merchant who buys the finished spools. It is a cottage industry process.

A period Qianlong imperial workshop lapis snuff bottle of graceful flat form, well hollowed (and with some snuff inside). This is old lapis lazuli with fine texture with gold flecks and detail which is not found today. The elegant smooth surface shows off the visual texture of the stone. Pink granite top with a pearl. A Qianlong/ Jiaqing /Daoguang faux aventurine snuff bottle (cf note below). Black Peking Glass with lots of gold plus a few spots of red makes for a gorgeous snuff bottle. This is sometimes also known as gold aventurine glass or gold stone. In any case, this type of glass was introduced to the Qing (Ch'ing) court in the 18th century by Italian Jesuits. early 19th century Qing period deep blue monochrome covered jar , no mark. This deep blue is sometimes called sacrificial blue after the sacrificial vessel color used at the Temple of Heaven in Peking. The color has been produced since the 17th century. This is a charming China Trade export oil painting of a Chinese junk tied up at a villa on the water. There is a small sampan in the foreground and 2 little figures in front of the entrance. This is a fancy southern Chinese style building most likely in Canton. There is an old typewriter tag on the back which you can see from the picture. A 17th century Kangxi period blue and white ladies figural bowl, underglazed symbolic mark, likely from the imperial contract kilns. A lovely waterside scene of ladies in flowing robes, going around to a rock garden framed by willow branches. A center medallion of the "3 friends of winter: pine, plum and bamboo". More good luck symbols all around. Excellent Kangxi hard glaze over white biscuit, teeny hint of blue.
