A fine 19th century Chinese snuff bottle with a wonderful red & black swirl. This type of bottle came from the Shangtung area in the north. Well hollowed, good footrim and silky to the touch. Later stopper of red glass conforms well. Nice transparent effect in the light. 3" high. Very good condition. This is a well finished antique example.

This is another example of a finely painted blue and white snuff bottle with wonderful details. It was done in the tradition of Chinese literary landscape paintings in which you will find an idealized micro-cosmos for the scholar. 扬洲套料鼻烟壶清中期. An Daoguang period Yangzhou pink overlay snuff bottle with unusual detail and subject matter. The pink glass overlaid on white was finely carved to show 2 boys at a game and 2 birds perhaps in a mating dance. Bats frame the composition. Rare Guangxu Tongzhi period Peking overlay glass snuff bottle blank, no mark. Green over white and well hollowed out and before carving. The inner rim has been already smoothed down. This is old Shangtong overlay glass originally shipped to the imperial workshops or private shops to be carved by lapidary craftsmen. An antique Tonghzi mark porcelain snuff bottle with fishermen in famille rose paintings and foo lion (dog) handles. Wonderful miniature expressive figures. Fun horizontal form with pearl finial top and nice composite spoon neatly done. Late 19th century and of the period. 2.5" wide and 2.25" high. Very good condition with no cracks lines or repairs. This is a fine well hollowed 19th century or Qing dynasty snuff bottle made of horn. It has a carnelian top and a bone spoon. See the great color when lit from the back. It is because of the thin walls. 2 inches high by 1 1/2 inch across. The condition is very good. Slight fissure near the center is normal to horn bills.
