A lovely Hawkes bowl from the American Brilliant Cut period. It has a toothed scalloped rim with deep mitre cuts and stars. 8" diameter and about 3 1/2" high. Etched Hawkes hawk mark on the bottom hard to photograph. Outstanding condition, only one tooth has tiny shallow flake barely visible. Rings beautifully. Outstanding holiday value from estate of old China Trade sea captain.

A wonderful 17th century Delft saucer dish with a woman's portrait in the center looking surprised. Wonder what is that round little object in front of her mouth. Nice border motif and foliated rim. Creamy thick glaze with a hint of green covers brownish grey biscuit.

A Bohemian decanter set with original stopper and 6 shot or schnaps glasses having slightly flaring rim. The wheel cut pattern on every piece is of a central European hunting lodge theme with deer and flamingos plus pavillion. While the flamingo looks pretty serene the deer is surely taking flight. A victorian tea / coffee set consisting of 4 pieces and a tray. The set is decorated all over with a fancy repousse floral theme. The designs are in relief with lots of high relief as you can see from the detail pictures. Marked Meriden Silver Plate Co. of Conneticut (see pics). Bone separators on the handles. The included silver plate tray is of the same pattern. The set is about 120 years old.

This image of the "Old Willow Tree at Shimabara Gate" is from the month series "Twelve Months of Kyoto" (Kyô-meishô jûnikagetsu), published 1945 by Uchida in Kyoto. An exceptional and rare sea battle painted by an artist on a 30" x 22" papier mache tray. The foreground is completely dominated by the canon fire & enveloping smoke around the 2 tall ships engaged broadside. One is flying the French flag and the other appears to be a Nordic country flag. A simply gorgeous antique Loetz vase of the Austrian art glass period. Thick purple swirl pattern on iridescent gold glass. Great pontil on the bottom. An exceptional Chinese scholar's object in carved bamboo with high relief. It shows a group of scholars in a bamboo grove, some around a go game in progress, and some enjoying a scroll. Several of the bamboo in the foreground are fully reticulated openwork. This can be seen on the 2 edges of the close up picture and also in the last picture. The cover has a beautiful water landscape with a cute fisherman in a boat with his pole. It is an idyllic Chinese scholar scene. Look at the exceptional detail in the close-up.
