An exceptional and rare sea battle painted by an artist on a 30" x 22" papier mache tray. The foreground is completely dominated by the canon fire & enveloping smoke around the 2 tall ships engaged broadside. One is flying the French flag and the other appears to be a Nordic country flag. Other masts peer over the mist. The painting itself was done by an accomplished marine artist, though unsigned. Really good wave action and ships rendering.
