A vibrant still life of 2 fresh red roses attributed to Peter Petronzio, a self taught American water color artist. From the 1940s. It is in a nice old frame and recently matted. A still life painting of a bouquet of red poppies. This is a dramatic presentation of a classic subject by Nakamura. Strong confident brush strokes with impasta on the petals. Written on the back "Presented to K Tomita by the Estate of K Nakamura". He was active in the first part of the 20th century. Image 14.5" x 21.5", in a simple black frame. Picture in very good condition with no tears or in-painting. Canvas brown with age.
