Vintage oil painting of Sailboats on the "Charles River Basin from Cambridge Side", signed lower right corner W. J. Macdonald, 1936. Tag with title on the back. It looks like a view from Memorial Drive across the M.I.T. campus and looking to the Boston Back Bay. Many sailboats from spring to fall.

This is a fine 19th century Chinese export painting on silk of a seated noble lady with her attendant carrying a teapot. Her head gear has many jade and ruby beads, and her sleeves are adorned with dragons. She was of the reigning Manchu tribe, and married to a senior official. Image area is 7 1/2 by 10 1/2 inches. Picture is in pretty good condition except for a narrow tear 1/3 of the way from the left margin on top (see picture).

A fine Chinese landscape fan painting with genre figures. Calligraphy, signature and 2 seals of the artist Dai Zhen and dated 1885, with a dedication to a friend with given name of Xuan Qing (no surname written). Painting has been matted and framed in a simple gold frame. Fine detail and composition, and the figures are well done. See close-ups which are magnified over the original.
A lovely 1892 China trade oil painting portrait of the 3 masted clipper ship Woolton under full sail. It is by the Calcutta (India) Chinese port artist Lai Fong. Excellent details, including riggings and sail. You can even see the reefing lines on the sails. She is flying the red Britannia ensign and a house ensign topmost.

An autumn scene beautifully framed by birch trees with a 3 mast ship in the back. A typical New England scene by the 19th century New Bedford artist Louis K. Harlow (1850-1913). His paintings tend to be small. This one is unusually large. Water color and in a vintage wood frame.
28.5 by 18.5" image size with 2.5" width frame margin. Good condition with no stains.
A gorgeous original acrylic painting by Michael Chiago (born 1946) of Tonoho O'odham tribe in Arizona. His subjects are the daily life and ceremonies of the Sonoran desert native traditions. These include both original and Christian practices. This is a wonderful individual dancer radiating energy.
Image 15 x 19.5" and frame 22.5 x 27". The painting is beautifully framed and is ready for the wall.

A gorgeous 19th century China trade marine oil painting portrait of the 3 masted clipper ship Unity of Boston under full sail. Excellent details, including riggings and sail. Good wave action, and there is another ship on the horizon. You can see the reefing lines on the sails. She is flying the American ensign. Unsigned, most likely by a port artist in Canton or Shanghai; about 1850.
An interesting and intriguing folk oil painting on masonite board of a young black girl leaning on a railing beneath a crescent moon. She is contemplating and has a hint of smile. Picture area 13.5" x 8.6" in a recent frame of 17.5" x 14".
