A vintage Chinese ivory carving of a Guangyin or Kannon seated on a wonderful elephant. She has a serene facial expression, holding her willow sprig, dipping it in the vessel of magic water. Good expression on the elephant. Carved with fine detail. Most likely dates before WWII this quality of detail... see the folds on the robes.
