This listing is for the complete month series "Twelve Months of Kyoto" (Kyô-meishô jûnikagetsu), published 1945 by Uchida in Kyoto. Each month shows a landmark of Kyoto. The individual prints are still tipped into the original folders. Image area about 10" x 11.75". Very good condition with no damage. A wonderful Paul Jacoulet woodblock print of the Korean god of Longevity with his stag. He is wearing a great hat and holding a taoist fan. Signed by the artist in pencil and with full seals. A rare Japanese export tray from the late Meiji (1868-1912) to early Taisho (1912-26) period. It is of a red cinnebar lacquer and deeply carved with medallions and rondels of decorative themes carved on stippled ground. The center oval is a very fanciful dragon with the pearl of wisdom. Two rondels show phoenixes; four depict lotus blossom in cross section and two are pomegranites I think. The bottom is of black lacquer (You see some green felt pads).
