Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902-1999)is best known for his shin hanga woodblock. This image of a "Snow Scene at the Byodoin Temple at Uji" is from the month series "Twelve Months of Kyoto" (Kyô-meishô jûnikagetsu), Published 1945 by Uchida in Kyoto. This is the original January print from the album. It is still tipped into the original folder. Image area about 10" x 11.75". Very good condition with no damage. ...click for details

A wonderful Paul Jacoulet woodblock print of the Korean god of Longevity with his stag. He is wearing a great hat and holding a taoist fan. Signed by the artist in pencil and with full seals. This is shown as #100, in Richard Miles' "The Prints of Paul Jacoulet".

A rare Japanese export tray from the late Meiji (1868-1912) to early Taisho (1912-26) period. It is of a red cinnebar lacquer and deeply carved with medallions and rondels of decorative themes carved on stippled ground. The center oval is a very fanciful dragon with the pearl of wisdom. Two rondels show phoenixes; four depict lotus blossom in cross section and two are pomegranites I think. The bottom is of black lacquer (You see some green felt pads). A wonderful antique Japanese export silver tea caddy (covered jar) with flying dragons in sharp relief. It is actually silver plate or low silver alloy. Polishes beautifully. No marks anywhere. Meiji or Taisho era.

A simply lovely late Meiji period wireless cloisonne vase in a pale sky blue ground. A subtle floral design. Maker's mark of Sato and hallmark for silver on the footrim. This marking is for export.

About 7.5"" high. Very good condition no bruises on the cloisonne.
