A simply beautiful plate of the English aethestic movement period borrowing from the best of the Japanese Kutani styles. The mauve pink blossom appear to float in the air amidst the gold dust clouds. The petals are outlined in gold thread which often stand out. Old mark of Doulton Burslem as shown.
9.2" diameter. Very good condition no chips hairlines or cracks. Enamel & gold all in fine condition. This plate is stylistically very similar to the moon vase I have listed now and of the same period. |
