A fine trumpet vase from the American Brilliant Cut period most likely by Higgins & Seiter. The pattern has elements of traditional deep cuts for leaves hobstars and toward the bottom oval ""bull's eye"" cuts. The result is a glittering surface scattering light in all directions. Pretty heavy and nice ring. No marks. Circa 1900.
13.5" high. A little roughness along the rim and on a few sharp points... par for the course for old cut glass. Very good condition no cracks or chips. Page 75 of Boggess' "American Brilliant Cut Glass" (Schiffer) shows a trumpet vase with an identical foot and similar cut pattern. Wonderful accessory for displaying the delayed spring & summer flowers coming soon. Email questions & offers answered. |
