Yongzhen Mark & Period Blue & White Lady Bowl
An early Yongzhen (Yung Ch'en) period blue & white bowl with ladies in a chamber gazing outside into the garden. Cute scene of man being pushed in a chair. A boy flies a kite in the interior medallion. Very typical Kangxi early Yongzhen style with characteristic blue color, glaze finish and brush strokes. Nice 6 character reign mark in double circle & of the period. This is an early mark.

Note: In old China porcelain ware destined for the palace had marks which designate the reign of the Emperor. The practice began in the 14th century Ming dynasty and continued through the Ch'ing (Qing) which ended in 1911. This mark is that of the Emperor Yung Ch'en (Yongzhen) 1723-35. Palace porcelain of this period is among the most sought after. Yongzhen porcelain technical achievements are superb, and the aethestics are restrained.

Dimensions: About 6" diameter 2.7" high. Very good condition. Maybe professional glaze retouch on rim, see pics. NO hairlines or cracks. Rings well ..... (If you need better pictures than, please email and I shall reply within 24 hours.)

This is a superb example of blue and white porcelain from a most desirable era of Chinese porcelain.
