A fine Guangxu period porcelain snuff bottle with a green dragon roiling amidst aubergine clouds on a yellow ground. The colors are known as "egg & spinach". The dragon fins and outline are hand incised on the bottle. Stopper top is an old green jadeite pebble of slight irregular shape, itself of some value and considerably better than contemporary jades.
About 3" high. Very good condition with no chips hairlines or cracks. This is a classic theme in a wonderful color, and with a conforming jadeite stopper. |
