An early Victorian period English display cabinet with numerous carved figures and faces, and what I like best, a marvelous classical chariot scene. There is also a woman on a winged steed, hair and mane flying! Many other faces as you can see from the pictures. In fact, the front is all covered with carvings. Writing says "Lady Bridget Osborne", probably in English history or mythology. I believe this is early to mid Victorian, maybe late Georgian.
About 62" by 38" by 15 1/2". In very good condition and structurally sound. A fine antique English carved cabinet with stories to tell! |
