An exquisite mini crown made of 18K gold and embellished with tiny seed pearls and 5 inset rubies. Not marked but tests 18K which I guarantee. 9 seed pearls which have a little wear over the ages. Each pearl is set on a prong. The gold filigree is substantial. The fine workmanship renders a graceful look. Circa 1895, late Victorian. Often called a santos crown, most likely from the private chapel of a wealthy or noble household.
About 1.5" diameter. Very good condition. A santos crown of such luxury is pretty rare. Just beautiful. |
