A fine blue and white saucer dish with stylized lotus scroll design. Conforming theme on the side. 6 character mark of Tongzhi (1861 - 1875)and of the period, guaranteed. 6" diameter, very faint short hairline along one side, barely visible (see center of detail pic); and a grain of kiln sand; excellent porcelain and glaze. This is a very well known design made in just about every reign. A Guangxu example is shown in Avitabile's "From the Dragon's Treasure". Note: This is a stylized lotus design which you can compare for fun with my carved dingyao lotus design plate (#302430) of the Song dynasty. |
