A very unusual Chinese export warming plate from the 18-19th century. It has a deep cobalt blue enamel decoration around the rim and a bouquet of flowers in the center. Gold trim around the rim. Pronounced orange peel effect all over. No marks anywhere. Cute little ears for the water pour . This is an early one, 1780-1820.
10 inch diameter. A couple of small chips along the rim as shown in pic. A little wear from age. Warming plates are always a favorite. This antique plate is in a rare color and slightly different form. |
