A large Chinese export famille rose mug with strap handles. Wonderful decoration of an official meeting with a boy riding a strange elephant. Probably a scene from an old folklore. Gold highlights, excellent detail and very fine porcelain biscuit. No marks. From the early Daoguang (1821-1850) period or possibly Qianlong.
6.7 inches high and 4 in. diameter. Very good condition with no hairlines cracks or repairs. Little wear to the gold gilt. White patches are reflections or glare, not problems. Rare large one. |
