A Kangxi period powder blue bottle vase with dragon and bird decoration in gold. Double circle of imperial factory on the bottom, Provenance is the Bernat Collection. Beautiful blue, silky to the touch.
10" high and 4.5" across the shoulder. Fine condition with no damage. Note 1: The Bernat Collection was well known for its exquisitely chosen imperial quality items. Husband and wife would compete with each other for acquiring the best smallest object, or the best feng cai, or the best Yongzheng, etc. Most of the collection was sold at Sotheby's in the early 1990s. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has a room full objects from the Bernat Collection. They have one of the oldest and widest ranging museum collections of Chinese items in America.
