A rare Tiffany sterling and bronze bud vase dated 1916 for invitation to dinner. The beautiful mirror image inscription is an invitation from Mr and Mrs. Hertney to the Mellon family for a silver anniversary dinner party on Thursday, August 24th, 1916, 7:30 at Edgenere, Long Island. See two detailed images. Mark on outside footrim: "Tiffany sterling and bronze". A lovely inscribed sourvenir in silver and bronze from the Gilded Age.
About 9.5" high, good condition with normal wear. Nice patina and the sterling polishes well. |
